In Tuesdays lesson we watched all the groups videos in our class and everybody wrote a form of feedback to say what they liked/didn't like, and what needs improving for the final draft. Here is a summary of what feedback we recieved.
-Majority thought lip syncing was very good and effective.
-Everybody (including us!) agreed that the long exterior shot of walking is way too long and not very effective!
-Everybody liked the setting of a black back drop clashing with platinum blonde hair, gave feirce emotional effect.
-There was a mix of views (amongst teachers also) as to whether the entire video should be lip syncing like Sinead O Connors, nothing compares to you. (we're wating for teachers decision!)
-A few people said that there wasn't many different shots. This worries us incase we are to film it entirely lip syncing incase we get marked down for the lack of shots.
-The last shot in letterbox effect, most people (us included) agree that eye contact should be kept to the camera right until the end as it break emotional contact with audience.
-Some said the flashback of the argument fits well and looks good in black and white as it shows its in the past. Although we're a bit unsure at this as at the minute there's nothing to back it up.
-People said that the lighting for the lip syncing was also very good.
-The last clip, the words need to be said more clearly.
-Long walking shot goes over chorus which takes away emotion of it.
-Emotion in lip syncing is spot on.
-stripped down costume works well.
-get rid of some props, eg bracelets in lip syncing.
In conclusion after recieving our audience feedback, we all agree to get rid of the long shot outside walking. It's way too long, doesn't fit previous emotions portrayed and lighting isn't very good. We need to make sure the gaze is held at the end of the last shot, and words are spoken more clearly. We're currently waiting for our teacher feedback, to decide whether we are to do the video entirely lip syncing, and refilm this to try and put even more emotion in it, or to film some new footage to back up the argument scene. Either way we have a lot of work to do before the final draft but still are pleased with the feedback we recieved for a first draft :).
