Kelly Clarkson Because Of You Analysis

I decided to also analyse this music video as it combines both the effects we were thinking about using, the close up shot of the artist singing and the fight scene between a couple. We like the fight scene as it helps to create the storyline and emotion needed for our music video. We feel the artist is also portrayed as vulnerable which is another key feature of which we aim to create. The simplicity of the close up shots also are very effective. Again this video reflects a strong narrative as Steve Archers theory states the story within this story is the artist (kelly clarkson) singing about her life as a child watching her parents fight and how she doesn't want to put her daughter through the same pain she went threw as a child, the lyrics are also coherent to the story line (illustarive) which is one of Andrew Goodwins theorys of exploring generic conventions. Visually there are also alot of close ups of the artist, mainly looking sad in order to show the emotion of the video.
